Bike Event
The pack will hold a bike event on March 29 at noon at the Alpharetta YMCA Preston Ridge Community Center, Preston Ridge Rd Suite 100, Alpharetta GA 30005
Bikes Atlanta will be there to teach youths how to ride bikes if needed. THIS IS FIRST COME FIRST SERVE!
here is a $30 cost if you Bikes Atlanta to teach your scout how to ride a bike. It’s normally 40 dollars but if you click on the link below and enter discount code “scouts” on the checkout screen it will be 30 dollars. Please click here to register for the learn to ride class. If we do not have enough participants, Bikes Atlanta will open the class to the general public.

Older scouts will go on a bike ride on the Big Creek Greenway.
We will try to complete the following electives
Lions – On a Roll – Scouts will learn about safety gear, and safety rules while riding.
Tigers – Rolling Tigers – In addition to the Lion requirements, Tigers will learn the ABC’s of bike dear, and demonstrate proper hand signals
Wolves – Pedal with the Pack – Scouts will take off and put on their helmet without help, discuss proper attire when riding a bike, learn about different types of bikes and where you might ride them, demonstrate how to stop and start, demonstrate hand signals
Bears – Bears on Bikes – in addition to the Wolf requirements, Bears will demonstrate how to adjust the saddle height operate brakes, learn how to use a pump to inflate tires, and go on a 30 minute bike ride
Webelos – Pedal Away – Discuss gear and supplies that should be brought on a long bike ride and how to safely carry it. Learn how multi-gear bikes work, practice lubricating a chain, demonstrate how to properly secure a bike with a bike lock, and go on a 5 mile bike ride.
