SUMMARY:(Optional) Troop 10 Meeting for AOLs – Boys only Troop
DESCRIPTION:Troop 10 invites you to our Arrow of Light Open House.\nTuesday, November 7th from 7:30-9:00pm (Scouts start at 7:30, parent meeting at 7:45)\nSt. Benedict Catholic Church 11045 Parsons Rd, Johns Creek, GA 30097\n-the Scouts will meet at 7:30 in the Parish Life Center; you may watch the beginning of the Scout meeting and\nthen move to a classroom at 7:45 for a parent meeting\n-there will be adult leaders and Scouts to provide information and answer any questions you and your Scout\nmight have\nTroop 10 is an active mid-size troop located at St. Benedict Catholic Church. We have a very diverse group of\nboys in our Troop from different schools and backgrounds. We also have an exceptional percentage of our\nboys who earn their Eagle rank (110 and counting!).\nThere are many reasons to consider our Troop including:\n· Troop 10 is proud to be boy-led, always. Scouts advance through the ranks and earn Merit Badges at their\nown pace and comfort level.\n· Our Troop is large enough to offer many leadership opportunities, but small enough to make sure your Scout\nhas a personal experience.\n· Troop 10 has a campout scheduled every month with different activities for each campout (ex. rock climbing,\nwater sports, biking, fishing, shooting sports, aviation, skiing, etc). The boys choose what kind of campouts\nthey are interested in having. Not all boys go to every campout, but they have the opportunity to camp every\nmonth. Campouts often include tiered programming to challenge younger AND older Scouts.\n· Troop 10 has a First-Year campout every spring to introduce them to camping with the Patrol method. They\nget a good start learning basic scouting skills and achieving requirements toward their first rank.\n· Summer Camp – The Troop attends a week-long summer camp every year. The boys LOVE summer camp. The\nlocation rotates, but there is always a first-year program to get new Scouts started. In subsequent years, they\nindividually get to choose which merit badges and activities they want to do.\n· High Adventure – another opportunity for older scouts each summer. Scouts can travel to Philmont, Northern\nTier, Sea Base or Summit.\nIn my experience, Troop 10 is a great group of boys with dedicated adult leaders committed to creating the best\nexperience possible. I have two sons that have enjoyed Scouting for 12 years now. As a mom, I have witnessed\nmy boys become more responsible, turn into leaders, and are so much better prepared for life after high school\nbecause of being a Boy Scout in Troop 10.\nPlease let me know if you have any questions. If you plan to attend the open house, RSVP to me at\nt10.membership@gmail.com.\nYours in Scouting,\nErin Barrett, Troop 10 New Member Coordinator\n
